Can anyone help which type of seal the Elf should have on the boot and how its fitted please? Mine is completely missing but I assume it would fit around the lip in the body not to the actual lid like a regular boot, just not to sure what I will actually need to order

The seal is mounted to the body.  A search on google finds this ebay ad but I'm not sure the shape is right.

I have my original one around in a box so will check but my pics seem to suggest it's more this shape

Yes I found that ebay listing but didn't think that looked right either, my guess would've been something more like the other links you suggested hence I thought I would ask what its meant to look like. All the seals are well rotten but the boot one didn't seem the be in the car so nothing to go off

Perfect thanks Duf that makes it a bit clearer. Might be one of the few things i'll need to order from overseas the local Mini specialist doesnt stock anything that looks like that profile, and it certainly doesn't match anything that was in the car

Looks very similar to the one I have. I bought it from Somerford in 2017

Thanks guys. The Somerford website doesn't show the profile, and this is what I've needed confirming. They are the only Mini supplier that sells it, and it shows in their price, but my main objection is paying them £10 to send an £18 rubber seal weighing virtually nothing, point of principle I'm afraid.  To try and help I thought I'd order all my door and window seals from them too, but that just resulted in a bill far more than buying the other seals from Minispares & a bigger p&p charge.  So if I can get the profile confirmed, which I now have, I will source it from elsewhere. Thanks for the help.

You saw my picture above? That's the actual one from Somerford.

The photo in this post above doesn’t show at my end. If I’d have been able to see it I wouldn’t have asked a second time.

Thanks for everyone’s help and patience, seal is now ordered.

Oh, that's easily fixed, you should have said. Glad you got it sorted.

Thanks Red, I can see it now. Getting way ahead of myself with my rebuild, got a whole heap more re-assembly to do before a boot seal is needed.
