Currently restoring a Smiths Fresh air heater from a MK1 mini. The heater is stripped of paint and ready for fresh paint to be applied. I understand that the front panel of the heater along with the metal heating duct panels are suppose to be in a "hammered'/ 'Crackled" finish. Could anyone recommend any paints that have been used either on the main body or the front to obtain an original look?

Many thanks

Use a crinkle finish aerosol paint and if needed you can dab it with some scotchbrite to add to the effect.
