Hi Guys
I was wondering if the S/N of the Smiths 90mph speedometer could be date coded by the serial number, the serial number of mine is 4421/00 1280

Thanks guys

That's the model number and TPM count - there'll be many more out there with the same numbers.
I can't remember if the casings are date stamped - it will be a 4 digit stamping denoting the week then year

4421/00 is from a Super Deluxe Mk2 850 or 998 from Oct 1967
1280 is the turns per mile

I guess this would be an uncommon configuration as they were different to the basic models and different to the Cooper S of the same time
