Does anyone else get mold in their mini interior when its left over the winter. Mines been parked in the garage for a couple of months now while i've been doing the engine, and the seats and steering wheel are covered in it. I wiped it all down with anti bacterial wipes before parking it up, but its still got it. i left the windows open about an inch for airflow but it still appeared. My garage is dry but not warm, single skin walls and wooden doors, but insulated roof. Any ideas would be appreciated

Desiccant gel bags or boxes, place those in your car.

That happened to mine the first winter I had it.

Every winter since then I used this:

https://www.amazon.c...aps,180&sr=8-10

To remove the mildew or mould, if you can wait until the lot dries out just vac the worst of it off then use some kind of all purpose cleaner to remove the residue but try not to get it too wet or use something like the Bissell Spot Clean Pro if you can afford it.

For some reason the seat belts were worst affected on mine.

+1 for this. I popped one of these in my car before last winter set in as I had a v small amount of mould that would appear just on the door/rear cards.
It may have even been MikeRotherham recommending them in another post back then that prompted me to get one installed. 🙂

Good evening,

My Mk3 does this on the rear vinyl seat over winter in my garage. A tray of cat littler behind the driver or passenger seat stops the mould forming by keeping the moisture level down in the car interior. Also worth keeping one window just cracked open!

Cheers and happy new year!!

I’ve been using them for around 8 years now with no mold issues whatsoever .
