Hello everyone and happy new year!. The clutch does not finish going well. It does not completely disengage and I'm going to totally renew it. I already have the pump, the slave cylinder, the push rod and the clutch plate + diaphragm + bearing kit

Now I'm going to buy this:

- Pre Verto clutch arm
- Clutch Plunger pre verto
- clutch oil seal
- both clevis pin

Something else that I may be forgetting ??

Regards, Luis

I think thats about it bar maybe the master cylinder... I would replace the rubber pipe and I would use the uprated stuff from Mini spares

cheers Minimad for reply. Yes, the clutch Master is new and the hose that goes into the slave cylinder too. The question is; do I need this?

I replaced the clutch in my 81 pickup in August 2019 and I used that release bearing.. the cost is minimal difference over the std one  so personally I would use that one.. I fitted it had no issues at all with it but then to be fair apart from a run fom London to Bristol it hasnt moved much lately.. I also fitted the Orange diapragm albeit with the std GT clutch plate

Why not use the release bearing that comes in the kit?

I didnt buy the kit I tend to upgrade where I can if it doesnt ruin the originality... I am sure there is nothing wrong with the kit one

Cheers for the replys. So, that bearing is a little better than this one:

In the Minispares web says that the expensive one is for Competition.

The expensive one gives more stability to the diagphragm yes.. reduces any tendency for "wobble" and reduces any shudder / judder

Sure its double the price at £15 but the effort in going to change it and the amount of times you will be doing it (once hopefully) I saw it as worth it.... for sure others may not agree

So, using hard the engine (my 1275cc) and to extend the life of the clutch should be nice to fit the expensive kit, the bearing + diaphragm orange isn't Minimad?

And what about the 'plate', any specially good for pre-verto type?

Be sure to grease the splines on the primary gear before installing the friction plate as this is commonly forgotten. That will help eradicate judder.

Competiton bearing, Orange diaphragm and STD friction plate is what I would fit, but do bear in mind this setup requires more effort to push the clutch pedal so if you do lots of sitting in traffic you may not like the heavier feel to the clutch

I found the replacement clutch arm and plunger very poorly made with massive tolerance which caused a lot of play when pressing the clutch. Having tried loads of other components in the search for a cure I ended up opting for the MED pre verto arm kit and it worked instantly. Running orange diaphragm, turbo clutch plate with lightened flywheel.
