Welcome to the forum!

Enigine number is strange and does not follow the general scheme. Is it on the riveted aluminium plate? Maybe an exchange engine?

For the body number, firstly I wouldn't publish it completely on a forum or website.

XA2S1N means it's an MK3 Mini 1000 roundnose.

I do not know what the "K" means.

The number sequence after is the build number.

Have a look there for the explanations:

No engine number is stamped to the block... no rivited plate. The MP is written on the sides, could it be that it originated from the MALTA PLANT ?

Meanwhile Body number has the riveted plate.

Its a 1972 mk3 mini in bronze yellow

The significant letter is the K -it means it is a Maltese built Mizzi Mini

....that's why the engine number can't be found on websites to decipher UK engine numbers.

& here's another one- https://www.theminif...76-austin-mini/

This one was made in a Blue colour that wasn't available on UK Minis. 1972 Bronze Yellow UK Minis had Navy colour seats, is yours the same as the UK colour scheme.

Hi and thanks for the info. The seats are black and has rubber carpets. Yes it is a Bronze Yellow.
