Its a bit late now but thought Id best start a project thread.

Current job is converting the 8.4 brakes to 7.5.

Ive acquired the complete cooper s kit from minispares, quickly realised I need to buy a 1.5inch deep socket, so thats on hold.

In the mean-time I bought a CV joint puller but the hole in the middle isnt big enough to go over the splines so I have modified it, not pretty but it works a treat. Both CV joints off in situ. Would certainly recommend one.

So far so good. No signs of any oil.

I had to modify the bolt repair to reduce the head size, Il not mention who I got it from on here in case he doesnt want inundating with requests, Im a happy customer though.

The hose and elbows arrived this morning, made them up with about 15cm excess length to allow room to almost completely remove the servo should I have jobs to do in that area.

The brackets that came with the servo didnt suit my application, theyre for MGs, so made my own main bracket with ability to adjust the bracket to increase the angle of the servo to aid bleeding should I need it.

Also modified the nose bracket for the same reasons.

I captive nut the mounts and added some sealant to them to stop water getting in behind it.

After drilling out the spot welds to the washer bottle bracket and cleaning up some surface rust, treating with rust converter and spray of etch primer.

I fitted the servo. Absolutely solid and not going anywhere.

Or do I use the existing advance vacuum? Think it might be too thin diameter.

The 'copperish nipple' is the end of the throttle butterfly shaft - you wont get much vacuum from it.

You need to drill and tap the manifold for a vacuum feed for the servo.

To fit the vacuum pipe Ive tapped the manifold.

I then drilled a hole though a bolt, cut the head off the bolt and cut it in half at 60 degrees and rewelded it at 120 degrees ish.

Lick of paint and some PTFE tape and vuela.

The remote brake servo is now fitted, in my opinion looks nice and tidy too, hasnt taken up much space and with the extended hoses itll be a piece of cake to do jobs with it still connected.

Just need to fit the 7.5" disc kit then I can get some fluid in there and bleed them up.

Additionally I bought some Goodridge eeze bleeders, big fan of tese and fit them to all of my cars, makes bleeding a sinch.
