Boot lids on, not a great fit, think it may have distorted slightly whilst its been sat in the house for a few years.
Ordered some foam tape to pad it out in places so Im optimistic.
Also ran out of paint whilst spraying it so nipped to Halfords and bought a can of theirs but it doesnt have a body shop style spray pattern so its a bit patchy sadly but it will do for now and Il probably go again in the summer.
Overall Im really pleased.
Just need to get some wide 10" wheels on it now.

Gave the car a clean with Renault F1 waterless wash and wax. Pretty good stuff in truth.

Had a blast out today and its apparent;
1 I dont like the steering wheel Ive fitted so put the old one back on for now
2 After fitting new engine mounts and renewing the stabiliser bushes, I still feel like theres movement so Ive ordered a thermostat stabiliser.
Fab drive out though.

Your fog/reverse lamp set-up is very neat. is that the single skin bootlid? - would it fit better if the top 'corners' were profiled to match the aperture?

Hi John, yes thank you Im pleased with the light.
Yes single skin, Ive not fitted a seal to it yet but once I fit some foam on the back to pack it out it will look better, but yes if needed I can sand the shape.

I did a string wheel alignment today and ended up with 2mm total toe out at the front and adjusted the castor which is now 3.5 degrees. Took it for a spin and it felt fantastic.

In the midst of refitting the subframe one of the captive nuts in the sill stripped although I think the bolt being worm is the main culprit.
Anyway section cutout to weld new threaded sleeve on and all welded back up with coat of etch primer.
Put subframe in to line it all up. Im tired now.
Por15 and topcoat to come.

Using worms as fixings is not recommended!

Got the fuel gauge working properly today, the fix was to remove the sender from the tank and give it a subtle bend as it appears to have been catching inside the tank.
Nice simple and free fix.
