"1000 De Lujo" or DeLuxe in English :)  Cooper's VIN should start with GT....

excellent work gaspen..thanks a lot..nice to know a bit of the back ground of the story..the previous owner was pretty un helpful. the lujo part (luxury) will suggest the interior trim i suppose..does it explain the disc brakes?

Looking more closely at the engine bay....

That's an Authi Hydrovac-Bendix brake servo & it still has the Authi radiator (thicker than the UK version).

I cant make out if that is a 1275 A or A+ series engine. Is the engine number stamped directly on the block or does it have a riveted engine number plate?   -Authi always stamped their engine blocks. The engine could be from a Authi Mini-Cooper, or the Authi version of the ADO16.The Authi engine numbers are fairly easy to identify.

Gaspen will hopefully be able to identify everything that was original -as he owns an Authi & has done a lot of research on them.

I think that your car is a Mini 1000 and it does not had disc brakes from factory. Only the 1275 models had disc brakes (1275 C, 1275 GT and the Authi Cooper ) It seems that somebody upgraded to disc brakes together with the A+ engine.  Authi engines were painted brown.

Deluxe means the interior instead, but the rear opening side windows were the also the part of these cars. And I see the aerial hole at the rear right corner of the car - unique for Authis  :shifty:

I share you the parts catalog for Authi, I hope you can use them.
