Finally Some Compressed Pics Of Rust And Repairs - Thoughts?

Some pics of rear arch rust - I'm planning to weld some new plates in (on 3 sides) and then finish off with fibreglass where the plates meet the outer body so as not to damage the paint work and panels.

 

Once the plates are welded in, what do folks recommend to finish off? eg Hammerite, underseal or no underseal??

(I'm undecided on underseal, it has its benefits but Ive been scraping a lot of it off)

The second pic is of the rear valance / bottom of arch and is horizontal.... thankfully my mechanic skills and welding are better than my pictures :-))

Zinga then paint and then a soft coating like waxoil or dinitrol.

You can weld without damaging paint

Weld it properly all the way round and touch up the paint,it may come back to haunt you otherwise.I am a bit of a bodger but I would weld all round.Steve..

I agree, also for an MOT All repairs must be fully seam welded.
