hi mate the best thing you can use to fit a body kit that you don't want to crack is fiberglass, i did it to the misses kit and its solid, PM WOODY and ask him what i did and how solid it is by the way hes a DOC on heremy mini is almost ready for the addition of a body kit. i have a zeemax kit and want to blend it on to the body. my main concern is stress cracks. i read it in a past mini mag issue of someone in Aust./NZ using spray foam inside the kit to keep it from flexing too much. i was thinking of doing the same thing. would there be possible issues by doing this? what do you guys think?
what i did was fiberglass the kit on then any big gaps i used expanding foam then fiber glassed over that just to seal it all up and it not going anywhere trust me
like i say just PM woody and ask

then fit it with self taping screws (these can be undone and refitted as many times as you want)
filing , triming and general fettling as you go untill you are happy with the fit ,
i then bond the kit on using P40 or fibrofill (only on to bare metal) and hold using the screws whilst this is setting
next remove the screws and fill the screw holes with the fiberglass paste
then get busy with the expanding foam
blend in using the fiberglass paste , when happy with the shape give a thin skim with body filler
NEVER put bodyfiller on more than 4mm thick
NEVER use pop rivets (this shold be made law with offenders being publicly flogged!)
any other questions feel free to ask

What i do is : fit the kit first with clamps, tape , grips etc filing and triming as you go
then fit it with self taping screws (these can be undone and refitted as many times as you want)
filing , triming and general fettling as you go untill you are happy with the fit ,
i then bond the kit on using P40 or fibrofill (only on to bare metal) and hold using the screws whilst this is setting
