Hi,

After putting in a new heritage full floor in my '88 Designer I'm looking to replace the companion bins. I was looking to completely replace them, but the only BMH ones seem to have a recess for inertia seatbelts, where as mine looks flush, will this cause an issue/are they compatible? There do appear to be magnum ones which are flush but would rather stick to BMH.

Alternatively, I have been looking at maybe just a bottom repair of the bins, does anyone know where the repair panel comes up to, I need it pretty much upto the point of spotting to the heel board down to the floor for the full length of the bottom of the bin (around to B post).

On a side note, the companion bin closing panel, I just cant get in my head how this is attached, I have BMH ones already (and the other closing panel which has the curve to the bottom of the rear quarter). Is this only spotted to the inner sill (and the end of the other closing panel) and the other side left floating? Just doesn't seem right, but the bit I took off only seems to have 1 side spotted.

Cheers for any help,

Michael

Speak to Doreen at M-machine, they do the ones you need. M-machine sell a mixture of BMH, Magnum, & their own panels.

You'd need to check whether they make their own, but the bins they supplied for my Elf went in great.  They're own stuff is normally top notch from my experience.

They do a TMF+ discount too.

I can also vouch for the m machine rear bins, I fitted them in my mk2, much easier than repairing what I had and meant I could just cut  the old ones when removing floor.

What is it you’re worried about with the BMH companion bins?

I can think of any recess in them? There is an extra piece spot welded in at the front which locates the seatbelt reel. This is the same from the introduction of pocket mounted inertia reels until the end of production.

I must have copped unlucky with the M Machine companion bins on Wills Mini Special. The front of them did not follow the contour of the B post and i had to section them to get a decent fit. Not the end of the world and sortable. This also applied to their waist rails as well.
