I’m replacing the front cones for the mini spares evo cones and hi lo’s on my MPI.

My question is, is there an easy way to get to the to little bolts on the front plate of the top arm pin? Or is it just a case of dislocating my arm in multiple places? 😂

Thanks

Wobble 3/8 extension and lots of extensions as above.

The uj’s with the ball type socket are ace, helps removing the ecu air ducting etc on offside on an mpi.
Remember don’t undo the front nut on the pin so the pin can be easily pulled out from front.

I thought this might be the case, still can’t hurt to ask!

Has anyone used the mini spare evolution cones? It says on the website that they’re relatively new. I’ve replaced the rears along with the subframe and shocks and bushes. I’ve reamed and rebuilt my radius arms too. Apart from greasing everything up, can anyone suggest anything on the front that’s worth replacing whilst it’s up on stands? Thanks

I've moved this to the General PTQ as you'll get a wider response.

I would check / replace the front bump stops, the little bits of rubber that cushion the arm dropping, and check for play in the swivels / knuckle,  and similarly check the Track Rod ends and the CV gaiters, and the tie rod bushes

Tie rod bushes have been replaced. I have ordered track rod ends, I have all new knuckle joints ready to go on because of how cheap they are. I never thought of the gaiters so I’ll have a good look over those. The bump stops look ok but I’ll see what’s left in the budget

Interesting! I have been running their red-dot competition cones for over 10k miles now. Wonder how these new ones compare.

Ok, so the job is all done and I’m happy to say it passed the MOT today. All shocks, cones, knuckles, bump and rebound stops replaced. Rear subframe and everything associated replaced. The ride is outstanding, nothing like any of the minis I’ve owned before. Minispares states these cones reduce roll through the corners and I have to say it is definitely noticeable. But anything is better than the trampoline I was driving before.
