Hi All

In the middle of a part restoration of my car and am starting to think of wheels and tyres.

I have gone with red dot cones and hi lows with gaz lowered shocks as the suspension set up and done the 12 to 10 inch brake conversion.  I'm wanting to run 6x10 wheels either Minator or minilite.

Is there anything I need to consider in terms of clearance. Some sites selling appear to list the offset (-7mm) but others don't and I presume this is crucial to getting them to fit with no clearance issues.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I have never gone that wide on a road car, so the only thing I can add is you will need wheel arch extensions to cover the tyres (I am sure you had that on the list though), assuming its UK based (Legal requirement here to cover the tyre thread)

thanks MiniMadRacer and Nicklouse

Wanted to run slightly lower than standard but having read various threads on the forum it seems that running red dots might make that tricky because as you mentioned they sit higher.

Yes with regards to arches these will be replaced with new appropriate sized ones. At the moment I have not really looked into this but I know there are a number of options.

Pretty certain you'll need to cut the wings and front panel. My 6x10 +13mm offset minilites need the wings trimmed.

As Nick has mentioned, you will no doubt need to trim the front arches for clearance.
There is a good arches directory on the forum, grab a coffee and flick through, will give you some ideas on which way you may want to go.
