Always amuses me when I see wide wheels large flares and lowered and then have grooves on the tyres where the original arch lip contacts the tyre. You seem well aware of this though and looks to be a sterling effort.Enjoy,Steve..

Thank you Steve. Yes I agree I bought the wheels when I first got the project. Now older and wiser i wish I hadn’t but I’m not getting rid of brand new wheels and tyres plus I don’t think anyone would buy them😂

Great start on your project, don't be dismayed when you find more rot than expected, they always are worse than they look, but if you've gone this far there's no turning back, so just get stuck in and go!

here's mine....

Thank you, I certainly won’t be dismayed. I’m loving working on the Mini again and excited for the end result even if it is a long way off. I can’t wait to drive a Mini for the first time.

Your Mini looks in amazing condition. Are those sportspack arches ?

They are not sportspack arches, and I wish I knew exactly what they are cause I would like to buy another set for another car of mine. The only time I've ever seen a set like this they were on a German market car. As I think my car may also have been from either Belgium or Germany (LHD) they may be common to that market. If anyone has a lead on where to get a set of these I would appreciate it. another pic to show the details. Note there is no cutout either for the repeater light or the end of the bumper to fit into the arch. Also, the arches blend into the body side both front and rear of the door and under the car in the back.

This weekend i found some photos from when i refreshed the engine and rebuilt it. The engine is currently wrapped up in the back of my Dads shed.

I also found some photos of when i rebuilt the radius arms and my son decided to help, whats the saying "start them young". Can't wait till the dangerous work is over and he can come to the shop with me to help and eventually we can have the enjoyment of shows as a family.

Well it's been another quiet week on the after's shift this week, giving me the chance to work on the mini. First i fitted the new sub frame mounting bushes to give spot on alignment then I scrapped the Magnum heel board repair panel cutting it up to make my own repair section. after tacking the section in i checked the alignment with the sub frame.

After the panel was securely welded in i refitted the sub frame to double check the alignment. I also fitted one of the radius arm on the N/S along with the wheel arch and the 13x7 alloys so i could check the fitment under the sports pack arches which i am over the moon with.

Once i had took the items back off and safely stored them i returned to the O/S re-securing the strengthening bar, fitting the closer panel, rear quarter panel repair and wheel arch.

After fitting the O/S rear quarter panel repair section and seeing how strong the body was i decided to fabricate a new panel for the N/S due the distortion and the flex. i made a template up using it to make a panel and cut the existing panel out, joggled the rear quarter and secured it in.There is a small amount of fettling to do.

Recent progress has slowed down due to having to make fitting for the roll over i borrowed from my boss. After my Mini was put on the jig work could restart, i will let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
