This may seem a strange question. But Has anyone tried to polish the internals of air flowing areas in there Turbo. I don't mean enlarge it changing the AR but simple polish to a better finish to improve flow. 

 

I am in the process of building a 998 Turbo with a T3. Not ideal. I have been researching every way I can improve spool. This seems a favoured option by many people but not referenced for Mini.

I really wouldn't be bolting a t3 to a 998 engine. A gt1548 is the ideal turbo for a 998, failing that a renaul5 5 gt turbo t2. A diesel gt15 would even be a much better option than a t3. I was planning on using a t15 off a mk3 astra 1.7td engine, but ended up buying a 1293 engine instead.

I know the T3 is not a good match for the engine. This engine is a collection of spare parts for my 1310 Turbo build and an old 998 that I had.

I can’t imagine it would make any measurable difference what so ever. Your time and effort would be much better spent elsewhere.
