What size of engine? A or A+ and will it be a road car, weekend warrior or full race?

Id speak to AC Dodd, or H&H Ignitions for advice

I have this sort on my 998 A+ pickup but only because it was brand new in a box supplied with the car when I bought it,

Today I feel better systems are "hidden" inside the distributor fully and are a lot cheaper

Having said that I have had no problems with mine and of course in my case it was free

Depends what you want to spend.
Keep your original dizzy, it has the right advance curve for your engine. Getting it rebuilt and slightly tweaked for ethanol fuel will give the best results.
As for the ignition module, a standard powerspark/ accuspark kit will do.

There's 2 choices... I'd definitely fit a 65D factory distributor (once its rebuilt and recurved to suit the 998)

I've done this to an 89 Mayfair, it's been fitted for 10 years and goes well.

Or fit the electronic kits to your current dizzy

I bought H & H through Calver, nearly 10 years ago, still going strong.  I've also used a Swiftune CSI unit that has several different curves, also very good.  The downside of electronic ignition is that if it fails, you are stuck on the side of the road, so carry a replacement set of points/condenser.

I have Petronix electronic module on my Mini for many years. Fits inside the Dizzy, easy to fit and much more reliable than points. Just use a decent quality rotor arm as well.
Not sure how available the Kit is now but I think I got it from MS.

Is it the units from Powerspark or Accuspark you are after?
