I’ve searched and I can’t find an answer, I’m installing new speakers, and I can’t work out which wire is positive and which is negative.

I’m going to reuse the original Rover plugs from the rear speakers and solder to the new speakers. I’ve worked out on the new pioneer speakers the smaller terminal is negative and the larger one positive.

But in Rover land is the striped wire positive or negative?

The plug in the car is this:

Black with a white trace is negative. It's in the Haynes manual.
