So looking at getting back into minis again for the 4th time. My partner argues that the dog (Medium in size) would not fit on the back seat...I disagree, anyone got pics of their pups in their Minis?

Every day I used to have an Alsatian, a border collie and a shetland sheepdog lined up on the back seat of my mini saloon in the 80's. No pictures I'm afraid.

I've had no trouble with a decent sized labrador in the back of my '91  :proud: I think she actually prefers it to the big Volvo XC60 that she's accustomed to!

I can't comment on dogs from a personal perspective as we don't have one at the moment.  As long as they can get between the seat (in it's tipped forward position) and the B post I can't see an issue. Have seen plenty of dogs in Minis on runs & at shows.

As have been said I think dogs like Minis to be honest.  Our cat loves ours, as soon as it's out on the drive she's in for a snooze, she especially loves the dislok case as a bed.

My big fat lab is actually named after my 1967 Morris.

Morris fits on my back seat no problem, quite comfortably actually. The porsche on the other hand is unfortunately a no go which sadly ends up limiting its use a bit.

So yes, Mini + average sized dog is no problem. Some of these photos prove a huge dog is no problem!

Wonderful thread. No pics of our Golden Retrievers in mine yet, but then the car isn't done yet. We have some people in the club who take their Huskies in a Mini Countryman, never fails to put a smile on my face

That just reminded me of a photo I took a good few years ago...

On the odd occasion I took him out in the Mk1 and we swapped sides, it was quite amusing going through the local drive-thru coffee shop, they'd always give him a treat  :proud: he had bad hips so would struggle getting into the back, but had no trouble hopping up onto the front seats.

It’s a 1275he. The engine though is now a refurbed unit from Avonbar.
