Hi All,

ive been using flap discs for years and have tried many different brands and i was wondering if there are any go to brands?

i have found over the years that cheap slitting discs (1mm) are useless and just wear out after very little use so i generally use bosch or wurth.

in terms of flap discs i have recently been using 3M ones, norton, garryson and tyrolit

these all seem to achieve some good results but are fairly pricey are the cheaper ones any good?

thoughts?

thanks

Jonny

For cutting disks like you Bosch. For flap wheels Norton.

These for me have a decent trade off of life versus cost, and for disks I wouldn’t be using anything unknown in case it shattered.

I use whatever i can get off eBay. No real go to to be honest or if i'm in Machinemart i buy their flap wheels.

I always finish off knocking back with Roloc discs in my die grinder.

3M or Norton, cheap flap disks are a false economy.

I use these, just as good as flap discs but considerably cheaper.

I use a 115mm back pad and 60g fibre disc for most of my grinding instead of flap disc.

Abracs, Klingspor, Blaze and 3M are my go to for anything abrasive related.
