I’ve got that same impact driver, it hasn’t failed to undo anything that I’ve asked of it. Ryobi tools have really improved over the last five years or so. If you’re not a tool brand snob, go for it.

Make tool to hold the hub. And just use a breaker bar. Impact tool or not you will still need to hold the rotating parts.

Or get someone to step on the brake pedal.

Or get someone to step on the brake pedal.
Often not not enough force There.

Seeing that nearly 200 ft-lbs is needed there, I went with a gun rated for at least that amount. Looking at the rechargeables price tags really put me off, esp when seeing the top ones didn't include a power pack, toss in another $100 for pack and base charger.
Ultimately went with a hard wired "BFG" on clearance for $80. Almost went with a good used one on local buy and sell site but the new one was such a good price.
Took that nut off in a second.

Depending on your circumstances, room for storage, usage etc, the advent of the battery powered tools makes compressors and air tools second hand very cheap... obviosuly not as portable as battery tools, but once you have a compressor you will wonder how you ever managed without one...even for silly things like blowing dust off filters, or drying a joint to check for any new weepage..

I managed to put a length of 2x4 lumber between the hub studs and braced to the cement floor to hub the hub from spinning, using another bit of wood to hold force on the brake pedal, braced against the frame cross member.

I've gotta say, I'm not a fan of any Impact Gun, nothing against any brand etc, I just don't like the way they work.
Yes, I do have 3 though ! But can't recall the last time I used any of them.
In your predicament here, I'd suggest grabing a short length of 2-1/2" Angle Iron (1/4" thk), drilling 2 x 10 mm holes in it for 2 adjacent studs to go through and bolt up the hub to it with a couple of wheel nuts. You could use this on car, but I use mine 99% of the time, on the bench.

I have the same one, great for everything I've needed it for on both Minis and MINIs.Searched the forum and have seen mixed reviews, would this be adequate for jobs on the mini. Reason for wanting to purchase is I need to get the front hub nut off. Unable to release with breaker bar as the rear end of the car is on axle stands.

I have Ryobi products and kind of made my bed with them with the amount of batteries I now have.
My drill recently packed up and wanted to go Milwakee but couldnt justify starting ahgain with batteries etc.
So my advice, is buy Milwakee to start with.
PS my Ryobi impact gun probably wouldnt undo the hub nuts fyi.
