Hey lads,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend any EU based mini parts suppliers?

Would obviously to keep ordering from MiniSpares and Mini Sport but with import duties and that would be great to know of any reputable EU suppliers.

Thanks

There are no import duties between the UK and EU. The deal between UK and EU is for tariff-free and quota-free trade.
The difference is only between the VAT in the UK and the VAT in the country of delivery. Thus if the VAT in your country is 23% your goods from the UK will cost 3% more.
There may be a small admin charge to cover the additional paperwork, but it should be minimal.

Not sure what you are looking for but I have used Datch in France before for some parts I was struggling to find in the U.K.

They have the usual stuff plus some NOS parts. I have no association with them apart from I bought some stuff last year.

Yes, any goods coming into Ireland valued at 22 euro or more are liable for EU/IRL VAT to be added to them. However any goods coming into Ireland valued at 150 euro or more (including delivery charges) are also liable for customs duty as well. Taken from the Irish governments tax site: https://www.revenue....ide-the-eu.aspx

  1. a customs value of more than €22 you will have to pay VAT
  2. an intrinsic value (the value of the goods alone excluding transport, insurance and handling charges) of more than €150 you will have to pay Customs Duty.

This will also be changing later in the year with the threshold for customs duty also being lowered to 22 euro as well. AFAIK for UK business to EU business and vice versa there it is tarriff free, but not for your average joe ordering goods online.

...and if the carrier handles all the paperwork for VAT & Co you'll have to pay them too.

The Netherlands charges between 3 and 4,5% on car parts over the total value of the order; if VAT was not charged beforehand that means its 4,5% (worst case) on top of the total value, and then 21% local taxes over the new total, items under 30'ish euros are exempt, but with shipping prices only large orders make sense, as they see shipping as part of the value.

I've been hit a few times by this since brexit, but deviating is tough as local stores need to get most of their stuff from the UK anyway.

If you check the link it is dated December 2020 and is prior to the UK - EU trade deal which confirms no tariffs and no maximum quotas.
VAT will be charged on price paid to the UK and this price will include delivery costs and sny admin fees. However, UK VAT will not be charged at source.
I have no doubt that some organisations will try to take advantage of the settling-down time but things will normalise in time.

It depends on the goods you buy and where they are manufactured. It is not a tariff free deal. If the goods are not made in the UK and are only sold by a UK company then yes there is duty to pay on them when they are imported and the couriers have an admin fee of a minimum of €14.50 or a % of the goods cost to cover the extra work they have to do onto the cost of the part and shipping so the cost of the part is more expensive than it was previously.

If you are in Ireland there is a company called  www.richmondclassicscarparts.ie  here in Ireland up in Mayo. Neil is his name and i think he is or used to be on the forum here. Check it out and see if they have anything to suit you.

Limora and angloparts in Belgium

Limora also have a UK site. Much of there Mini stuff comes from the UK as well. and the mark up.......

what needs to be remembered is most of the Mini parts suppliers in the UK also provide most of the worlds mini sales places with parts. and this is going to be a right pain as most of the parts are not made in the UK so will be hit with the rules of origin issues. I can see new distribution and sales businesses opening in the EU.

Angloparts are an odd bunch. They can't keep me and my dad apart, more often than not we get each others bills/shipping info. My dad had them on the phone once to order an oil filter, or something like that, to which the chap on the other end said "that won't fit a Mini though", to which someone in the background commented "Or is it the father, that would fit an MGA!". I suppose it's a good level of personal service but the email and account confusion is a pain in the backside.

There's also The Little Car Company here in NL who are a nice bunch of chaps, who support our local club, come down to our club days etc. There's also Phillips Classics in Belgium, but I've never actually dealt with them, just see them around at car shows, usually a good selection in switches, fuses etc.

There's also Mini Farm here in NL but most of their stuff is MiniSpares and Newton at a premium, convenient when I really need something soon but often if it can wait I can get it from MiniSpares for a better price through TMF+.

I have once ordered at Datch https://www.datch.fr/en

I will order the items, which are either cheaper or only a bit more expensive than at Minispares, there. Splitting my orders in smaller chunks, with less "customs attention" hopefully.
