The WEB10057 and WEB101440 parts are no longer available

I did some hunting around, took some much needed advice and came across the product below:

Nimbus GII is a revolutionary heat shield material. Its double layer of aluminium structure gives a highly efficient thermal barrier coupled with effective acoustic damping characteristics. (camauto.com)

£12 a sheet

Bend, cut or drill it...get the shape you want and fix it easily

These are offcuts so the price is good (I think)

The photos on the website (link above) are examples of what you can do with it

The product is supplied as a flat sheet

Just though I'd share this in case anyone else is looking as I was

Happy fettling everyone

UPDATE : other views and suggestions followed. All gratefully received. My post is not a recommendation or a guarantee.

Seen that tried before and it melted the stone chip and carpet inside. You need a proper insulator under there if you have a catalytic converter or turbo.

I have this under mine.

That doesn't work, the best thing is get a heat shield from another make of car and make it fit. Or don't use one at all.

In an ideal world you need an air gap between the heat shield and the tunnel.

I had a factory fit heatshield on my 93 sprite, when I got the car Motd one year the metal around the captive bolts was rotten so we removed the heatshield and cut the rot out and the car now runs without a heatshield. If its a carb engine you don't need a heatshield as the car doesn't get warm enough
