Like they do for MGBs?

Mine is worn and I want to replace it but I have to buy the entire master cylinder. Why can't the mini parts suppliers sell them?  They must be made as they are supplied with new master cylinders.

Supply and demand? For most people, if the push road is that bad the master cylinder is probably due replacement too.

You used to be able to buy them - 17H7557

can't anymore.  Only for MGs.  Not sure what the difference is between the 17H7557 and 17H7985.  Might get one and see.  I want to keep the M/C if possible but want to replace the push rod.  Might have to buy a new M/C and remove the push rod.  Just seems unfair that MGBs can have that option.

Same can be said for Spitfire Master Cylinders, some manufacturers do not supply the pushrods.

Pushrods can be different sizes, you would think it would make sense to make a standard pushrod of equal length to be used on different cars -especially given that a lot come from BLMC playground

Cost cutting I think you will find is the word.

It appears both are 3/4" inch bore. Could be interesting what any length difference makes to the height offset with the brake pedal.

Not sure that doesn't just add to the confusion, but something sounds about 3/8" longer as a very rough estimate

They say a fool and their money soon parts.  Well, to abide by the rule, I ordered one from Moss to see what the difference is.  And, drum roll please, to the naked eye, the only difference I can see, is the dust cover collar on the shaft!

Don't know why I didn't spot https://www.merlinmo...nders-obpcb005s

Even better, but a little bit dubious if there'd be room for either - how much of the lotal length needs to be able to go through the retainer washer in to the cylinder

There are issues with length here. See my fitting of the KAD clutch kit
