In house labour could be double the  customer cost. They are paying for their time and not yet getting customer revenue all the time costing rent rates electricity loans etc.I have not seem the Kits to comment on the quality etc but to some £12k is pocket money to me £12 is robbery. They are a business after all and as Moke alluded to they are profit driven,Just my slightly jaundiced view.Steve..

Perhaps, when you've got a good amount of time to burn, go have a look for yourself. Perhaps turn a bit of a deaf ear to anything they may have to say, look for yourself and draw your own conclusions. Also, just keep in mind, with just about anything like this from just about any supplier, they are not working to a standard, but setting a price, then trying to keep as far under that as they can in order to make money from it.

Just one question I have here in my ignorance of local rules in the UK, but how does one get on registering such a vehicle ?

Spider, these cars are already registered. Usually they take a car, restore it and don't re-assemble it and sell it for a mark up. Not sure how many they've sold, but a nice idea for the budding restorer that doesn't want to go through the hassle of bodywork and engine rebuilding!

I think if I wanted to do a full rebuild on any mini then I’d be interested to know more. Good body and paint would take £6-7k alone. Engine and box could add another couple of grand easily.

who knows?

Ethel, thanks for clearing that up for me. It's a considerably different system to what we have here and one that I've not found an explanation of.

Steve, I guess if they are registered, then selling them this way could get them around needing to be a Registered Car Dealer too ?

Spider it makes no difference in U.K., if sold as a project they don’t have to be registered as anything, however that company is a car dealer already.
