Hi

I stripped my brake servo unit last year and got the appropriate service kit to repair it. Only problem is I did not take many pictures and put it in a box, then forgot about it. Got it all on the bench and think I can piece it together again but seem unable to find the correct assembly drawing. Checked all my Haynes manuals and searched the net but cant seem to find the correct info. Can anyone help with this?

This is the servo type from a 1988 onwards

Any help most appreciated

Thanks

Rob

Anyone done this job and remember the correct order for seals and rings? I have placed them on the servo housing as I think they should be fitted

I'm sorry, I have nothing listed for the late Mini Servos.

I have the Metro one which I think is similar, if this is any help ?

Thank you very much for this, I have assembled today and think the seal No8 in the drawing is in the opposite way. I have searched every possible variation of description and manual I have and none of them had this, including the metro manual I have. I will pull it to bits tomorrow and correct the seal.

Thanks again Rob

At rest the whole servo should hold a vacuum so I'd expect that seal to prevent air entering the can.

Pressing the pedal lets air pressure in behind the diaphragm while closing  off the port through the centre to maintain the vacuum on the master cylinder side. It's a balancing act done by the valve rod between the seals in front & behind its flanges.

Today it will all come to bits to correct the seal direction. The next job is the pedal assembly and again its in several boxes all mixed up and not so many pictures. Normally I strip things and rebuild whilst I remember the correct assembly. I have so many parts still to refurb. Slowly getting there. Thanks for the help with this
