Just about to put the battery cable  back on the car, horrible job,.................... at the battery end I have seen on this forum pictures that show the route at the rear end ( BOOT)  ...comes out the channel under the car, and then goes up between the back of the floor and rear subframe then neatly into the boot floor, have also seen and if I recall, mine was the same, that the cable comes out the channel, then just loops over the rear subframe into the boot floor?..... to me the first method seems neater, BUT is it do-able in situ? or was it done when the rear subframe was out?  Must learn how to post photos :(

Secondly, where the cable comes out of the front, what's the best route from then on ?    just don't like the idea of cable tying it to the front subframe as they are unsightly ghastly things......ties I mean not subframes....

Cheers.

Out of the factory the Cable went over the subframe into the boot floor then the connector was fitted to the cabe (I think) once inside the boot.. The cable I believe is pokable through above the subrame with it in situ, but I am sure it wont with the battery terminal connected..

for me the battery cable was always under the subframe and tied in the corner with two P-clips and then goes in the boot. I changed one not long ago ;)

As Gilles1000 says, cable did not go between subframe and body, it runs beneath the subframe and is secured to the subframe with P clips.

It might have been Australian Production ? however, in the Rear, the Cable went between the body and the subframe, along with the Brake Line and on the other side, the Fuel Line and in the later cars, the Vapor Return Line.

Must learn how to post photos :(

I’ve just fitted mine between the body and subframe whilst the subframe was insitu. Was expecting a battle but all went in quite easily. I fed the front end of the cable out of the boot and between the body and subframe before running it to the front and putting it in the channel. Mine was a brand new cable as part of a full rebuild though.

Thanks for all the replies, would love it to go between the sub and body, I will have a go but if it fails, over it goes......

Worth noting, as it may have made the job easier, the new cable I used has a 90 degree bend in the engine end terminal.
