I've changed my indicators and now the side repeaters have stopped working any ideas why this has happened?

Many thanks

What exactly have you changed? Bulbs, holders, wiring, relays, need a bit more detail on what you have done

If you have installed LED units make sure you have wired them with the correct polarity.

Changed the front holders as I wanted the old glass style ones, did have the screw on type. Front indicators are working fine but it's the side repeaters that aren't working! I changed them too to amber ones and put brand new bulbs in so I can't understand it?

OK, so you have done something to the front indicators and the side repeaters and now both side repeaters aren't working. You should not have affected the wiring for the repeaters by just replacing the front bulb holders but it is worth checking continuity between the live and earth terminals on each side. My suspicion would be that your new bulbs are not making proper contact in the bulb holders or are installed the wrong way round (if they are led ones). If you have continuity between your side repeater and front indicator then your problem is the bulb or how it is fitted. If you don't have continuity then you have done something to the wiring when you connected the new holder up.

Should be very simple,

They just need an earth & the same supply that's working in the main indicator. Did you only change the repeater  lenses & bulbs - same wiring?

Earth related? Shouldn't effect it, but the old style indicators can earth through the metal base, if your stumped you could take the screws out 'n see if it changes anything.

They really ought to work then. If it's not the bulbs hard to see it being anything other than an earth issue, might do it - you could have +12v going both ways in to the side flashers if you messed up the connections for the new fronts somehow & made the earth live.

Is it possible you have blown a fuse?

Repeaters aren't fused separately

I seem to remember the repeater wiring comes from under the dash?If they are anything like mine the holders are full of mud and the lamps have spindly little wires and contact is tenuous.Steve..

You need to start checking if you have earth continuity and power to your bulb holders to check. If your other indicators work fine then it is not a fuse or relay. It can only be wiring, holder or bulb. If you are stuck at this point and you state where you are located a forum member may be able to help you out if they are local to you
