As title says, I have a 1340cc Weber DCOE 45 with fast road cam and 1.5 lifters, when the engine is cold it'll idle at around 800 roughly, then after 5 or so minutes after warming up it'll rise to around 1200-1300, then i have to get out the car and lower it back down to 7-800, but then if i shut the car off and let it cool down it will idle so low and stall so i have to pulse the throttle or just get out and raise the idle again, also adjusting the choke helps very slightly, but then of course after warming up it'll go back up to 1300 or so, so i have to lower it back down

Hope i have explained this right, the engine runs fantastically otherwise, im sure the idle circuit is just set up wrong, any advice would be lovely

I don't know Webers that well, but is the first part of the choke mechanism not just actuating a fast idle cam similar to the SU?

So effectively a slight pull on the choke cable just picks the idle speed up, but does nothing to the fueling.

Webers don’t really have a choke. They have a cold start device that adds more fuel. Make sure it’s not over fueling at idle. The bronze barrels are notorious for leaks. You can’t adjust the cold idle, but shouldn’t need to either, the cold start device should provide all the fuel needed and make idle high enough to drive off. After a minute or 2 it should idle well enough anyway.

I run a weber 48 on my racer, it idles high as it has all the race goodies on it including a silly overlap long CAM high lift rockers, lightenend flywheel etc etc.. I have never put a weber on a road car, I would siuspect that you would have to have the idle high just to get the "draw" down the throats of a weber... bear in mind a weber on a mini was not meant to "idle", it was there for out an out give it large ...full power....

I should have added, mine wont idle at all when cold, it has to hit about 70 deg before it will tick over, so I start it,and keep the revs around 2000 until it warms enough to take my foot off the go pedal
