Hi All,
I have not long had the car, and I have just got round to looking to see if I can check the engine for any problems. I have downloaded the MEMS diag program and collected some data from my 2000 MPI mini, with a MEMS 2J ECU. The program really wants an Android tablet, or a Windows 10 computer, but I only have an old Notebook running Windows 7 (very slowly), so I am struggling a bit with the data collection. Nevertheless, I have collected some data, and now I am trying to interpret what I have got (I tried to attach the CSV file, but it said that i was not allowed to upload that type of file).
I was first looking to see if I have any fault codes, so I cleared what was there, and I am still left with the following:
Oil temp (present)
Oil temp (high voltage)
Outside air temp (low voltage)
Outside temp sensor (present)
Looking at other posts, I have seen that some fault codes appear because the sensors are not there, so are not really faults. Can anyone advise if these are real faults, and if so, are there any checks that I can make to see if I can clear the faults, or am I just better to buy new sensors and change them out?
The other thing that I have noticed, is that there is a discrepancy in some readings, but I do not know if it is a problem or not. The software reports:
Coil 1 charge time - steady at 0.005 (sometimes 0.006)
Coil 2 charge time - generally 0.220 , but sometimes 0.245, and once 0.014)
Is this a problem, or is it normal?
Injector 1 pw 28
Injector 2 pw 32
Is this discrepancy a problem?
Any help gratefully received, or if anyone is in the Southampton area with a fault code reader then I would be grateful for any advice.
Many thanks in advance.
