Hello, my name is George Blau and I live in Costa Rica.

I have been involved with Minis since 1995, when I acquired a beautiful '91 BRG Rover Mini.

After buying and selling a few more Minis, I now have what will be the last Mini in my life. It is an Oxford gray 1999 John Cooper Si.

I am the second owner. It was purchased directly from Mr. Cooper's Garages back in 1999 by the first owner. After many years of asking him to sell it to me, I finally acquired it in 2008.

The car has an original Jack Knight 5 speed transmission that has started to have some problems. I took it apart and found that the THIRD MOTION SHAFT LATE TYPE is worn out at the 5th gear end.

I am trying to find this lay shaft but have not had any luck with the usual parts suppliers like Mini Sport, Mini Spares and the like.

Could someone please point me in the right direction to a new or good used one?

I thank you in advance for your help.

Very best regards.

Stay safe.

George

If you look under links on hsi website there's his twitter details, in case he doesn't answer the phone. Depends on how busy he is.
