Hi, got an issue where both nearside indicators have stopped working. Have checked bulbs, fuses, bullets, fitted new flasher unit, earth connections, general condition of the wiring, and all the other possibles mentioned in the many posts on this problem. Hence Im out of ideas !. Offside indicators work OK. Car has a new complete loom a few years ago.The only old wiring is the stalk which I intend to remove and test .Today I measured the voltage to the front nearside bulb and recorded only 3V

Question is can anyone advise me how to test the stalk?

Thanks in anticipation

I just replaced my stalk with the re-designed MiniSpares unit. Original had failed at the black plastic casing that clips the metal side into place. This meant no main beam flash would happen as there was no clamping force for the spring to push against.
I suspect your stalk has an issue for nearside switch contact points. Check your wiring diagram for wire colours that come off switch for that side, then put an ohm meter on those lines while setting switch on/off. Should go from 0 Ohms to infinite (open circuit). Might be able to clean contacts with emery paper or see if something is bent out of shape, not making proper contact.

H thanks for your advice, I purchased a new stalk, fitted it but it wasnt the cure. The good news is I found the problem ( after a awful lot of hours) there was a short circuit where 2 bullet pins (G/R) had parted company in the connector just under the fuel tank, it was quite difficult to see. What a relief.

Thanks to everyones advice.
