Hi all,

I thought I would share something I have been working on to get my dash liner to sit much nicer. Like many others, mine mini has been converted to a center speedo dash (from an Spi). The factory windscreen vent ducts have a large 2" heater hose which sits quite far out from the bulkhead.

I've designed these ducts to sit as close to the bulkhead as possible. It's a mirrored parts so they can be swapped side to side depending on which side you'd prefer the hose to go.

If anyone is interested in a set please feel free to send me a DM.

Cheers,

Will.

Very natty,

Have you done any performance testing?

Wondering if increasing the flange width to take some stick on draft excluder could help to eliminate leaks under the rail?

Any internal Vanes to help direct the flow?

I think that will needs one or two. Easy to test without printing more. Cut slots and stick  some strips in. But first see what the flow pattern is like on the screen.

So far, so good. The flange does have a flat surface which could be used for some form of foam seal.

No, but it wouldn't be hard to add some to the design.

They look really good and the first items I've seen that don't look 3D printed from a reasonable distance.

On a different note, what have you got below the heater controls. Is the top of a centre console?

Very neat. Maybe a small ridge to lock into the convoluted hose would be handy if you're doing a MK2?

Thanks! They still have the unavoidable lines, but aren't particularly noticeable.

That would be the AC controls.

I did think about this, but they are such a nice snug fit on the hose that it wouldn't be needed.

Excellent work there! They've come out very good As said above I think some vanes inside would be good, and make them stronger too. They're much better than my ones anyway
