WARNING - LENGTHY JUSTIFICATION
My current drums on the rear have warped and are difficult to adjust, so I thought I'd buy new. After a lot of 'Umming and arrring' I decided to get minispares 'minifins' (spacered) I know most people say they are a waste of money on what is mostly a road car, but I do some autosolos and the like where seconds do matter and I've seen how people spend hundreds on lightweight radius arms or whatever so an extra £40 to save a couple of kilos unsprung weight seemed logical.
Anyway - styling!
So when I was researching alloy finned brakes I came across this picture
Not my car by the way.
I was thinking of doing the same matt black on mine to tuck them away, and they also look pretty nice, but then I got thinking of sanding the outer edges of the fins to show the bare aluminium but I can't figure out if it will look good or tacky.
(I once had to drive a stock 1.8 ford focus with the rear drums painted bright red, for a week.... I'm just about recovered from the shame)
This is the car - my thinking is it will tie into the arch style
I guess I could just paint over the sanded parts again if it looks rubbish, but has anyone on here seen/done similar?
