Hi folks, I've replaced a failed rear cylinder, cleaned everything up, adjusted the hand brake and all ready to go but I can't bleed the rears, just getting a dribble. I've got a pressured eezibleeed and that won't send it through either, I've cracked the union on the pwda valve incoming and that's working but the outgoing side going to the rear split isn't coming out hardly at all.

Is the valve broken or just not allowing fluid to pass because I have pressure at the front, should I release the front bleed screws then start at the rear again? If I use the eezibleeed then it will just pour out the fronts I presume so I'll need to do the rears the old fashioned way?

I don't want to replace the valve at £90 only to find I'm doing the bleed sequence wrong, strangely the brakes actually feel ok but there wouldn't be any rears of the fronts fail!

Any ideas? Thanks.

How old are the rear flexi hoses, might be an idea to replace while you are at it.. at least it rules them out

Try gravity bleeding on rears. No need to apply any pressure at front, so would eliminate that as the issue.

If I'm not getting any from the output side of the valve on the bulkhead though I'm not going to get anything at the back though am I?

I don't remember having this issue last time I bled them!

My limited understanding is that if you pressurise the system the valve reduced pressure to the rears,it does this by reducing flow.Do not use the easybleed but use gravity to bleed the rears. It may take some time so have a brew.
When fluid is flowing a glamorous assistant and" down/ undo/tighten/ up" works for me.Others may have different methods.Have fun,Steve..

Just bleed it without the pressure bleeder, use the two man method but make sure you have the bleed nipple open before you press the pedal.

I'm not getting any fluid at the nipples because there's no fluid passing through the PDWA valve.

I think the shuttle in the PDWA valve has gone too far over following the slow leak from the faulty rear cylinder and has blocked off the rear circuit, I think I'm going to release the fluid in the front circuit and see if it re centres itself then I should be able to use the eezibleeed starting from the rear in sequence to bleed all four corners.

Pressing the pedal with either circuit at pressure and the other one open will trigger the PDWA and block off the opposite circuit.

I took the valve off and it was jammed, it's working now but I'll replace it anyway for good measure I think.
