I'm rebushing the throttle spindle on a HS6 and looking for the correct Loctite Green to hold the bushes into the carb body. Can anyone help with the product number please?

Could be Loctite 620 you require.

Loctite? Are they not a press fit like the HIF carbs?

Phil.

Don't have one to hand at the moment but pretty sure they're a split bush and everything I've read or watched says use green loctite to stop them moving after reaming to 9.5mm.

I’ve only ever done HIF carbs. On the HS I’m guessing the spindle runs straight onto the carb body without any bushes as standard then? Hence the reaming procedure.
The HIF carbs have bushes from the factory so it’s just a matter of pressing out the old ones and in with the new. I’ve never had to loctite these.

Phil.

They need to be reamed to 9.5mm. If the new bushes are loose loctiting them is not the solution as the new bushes require them to be gripped properly to form the correct diameter. Added to this, the current batch of bushings supplied from Burlen seem to be a bit on the loose side regarding their inside diameter.

I make my own brass bushings when I need oversize solution or I need a tighter fit on the spindle.

They normally are a press fit, however, some added insurance isn't a bad idea.

Loctite 620 or 648 would be fine.

The 620 will be more useful though in other applications.

The bushes are of the split type. From SU crk223 rebuild kit.

Hole to be reamed to 9.5mm but not all the way through to the body. Must stop before breakthrough into main orifice.

that's the instructions and also as shown in video from Joe Curto.
