I'm fitting an SPi engine to my 89 Carburetted car and I have the mechanical temperature sending unit, so I need to drill and tap for the sender adaptor, does anyone know the correct thread size and pitch?

I don't think it's a pipe thread as the adaptor uses a copper washer under it.

Thanks, I figured it out while I was offline - 5/8-18 is correct.

Be sure to drill it in such a way as to leave a seat for the sender to seal on.

I used a thermostat housing with sensor hole 12A408  or WS016S

Yes, I noticed the flat surface angles slightly, so I used that as my guide.

Thanks for all the replies, I think I have it sorted now.
