Hi everyone, I am the proud new owner of a 1982 Austin mini!
So excited but also living with guilt that this is the first time in her life that she is not kept in dry storage. Do you think it’s worth investing in a shed or hiring a garage? Or do you guys keep yours outside?
Thanks!
Eliza and Blanche

Hi and welcome to TMF.

Personally if you have the space then keeping your little car under cover is the way fwd.

I’m moving shortly and my new house only has a single garage so my son and I are building a lean to to house both Project Erm and when I get him transferred from my workshop Paddy as well.

Now that’s my choice plus the time and effort I have ploughed into restoring both cars means I would not want them getting wet or damp.

My double garage will be built once I’m back to work off furlough.

Hi and welcome to TMF

My view is that if you have the opportunity to keep it in a garage then you should, I dont have a garage so my Mini is kept outside under a cover like this

https://www.ebay.co....EAAOSwWhlfSOPM.

It suffers occasionally from a bit of condensation but I think its better than leaving it exposed to the elements,

PS you need to post some photos of your mini

Thanks for the advice! Those shelters are perfect!

My only other question would be around fitting badges. I have some scripts saying ”Austin mini” and “automatic”. Hire a professional or let my dad have a go? How hard are they to install?

Thanks :)
