Hi folk.

 

The subframe to sill upper captive nut, where is the best place to access it? 

 

Ive rewelded/repaired the lower one, gone to refit the subframe and the upper one wont grab now 

 

Ive practised retorqued everything else to 25nm so hopefully once this one is fixed the subframe will be good to go in.

My plan is to run a small bead of weld externally from the captive nut to the heal board - just to make sure the nut is well attached.

 

Il then helicoil it.

It is yes, I cut the corner out then rewelded the sleeve on whilst on my bench. Then welded it back in.

 

I dont like welding upside down and worried Il not get good enough access.
