Evening MiniPeople

I decided to start up my mini today - restoration is going well, engine in, welding all done etc.  However, it has an immobiliser that I only noticed when the red LED illuminated when I plugged the battery in.

I don't have an immobiliser key and the car starts without any form of fob or key for the immobiliser.  Should I disconnect the immobiliser? Or should I try and find a key for the immobiliser??

Thanks for any help you can put forth. Cheers

Hi, from looking at your other posts it looks like you have a mini 35? I've had a look at the original brochure and it makes no mention of an alarm. Does it look original? Maybe it's just a light!

That's right, it's a Mini 35. It looks like an aftermarket fitment that may have been disconnected. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post. Cheers

If it’s an Spi engine fitted with a factory immobiliser/alarm you will be able to tell from the ECU number.
