Hi, I've just won this car on collecting cars auction. I have been after a classic mini for a while. It all seems to check out but thought I'd ask on here just in case anyone has any more information before I make full payment.

Many thanks

Also worth asking on the Mk1 forum (link below) as some members will likely have knowledge of the car.

Also Mini Cooper Register for Mk2:-

The Mk 2 Cooper S Registrar would be the best bet. The Mini Cooper Register has been going for over thirty years so know something about most cars. This might sound odd but it could be worth contacting their Mk 3 S Registrar as well, a friend of mine was looking at a Mk 3 S and the guy supplied some really excellent pictures of exactly what to look for in the boot.

XMV looks a nice car with a good many original features although the horrible cheap number plates and door roundels do it no favours in my opinion but they can be easily sorted.

Thanks for the replies.

I checked DVLA website and seems to check out. It also has the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate which should offer some reassurance too.

I've posted on the other forum, hopefully someone knows something about it.

Thanks

Andrew

Oversills?

Hi, does it look as though the car has oversills? Hard for me to tell.

Oversills?

Hi, does it look as though the car has oversills? Hard for me to tell.

I don't think they are oversills, the standard seam/join between the floor and sill is just about visible I think. Good price with some potential to tidy some details and bring it up to the top price range as an investment.

Thanks for the replies, collecting on Saturday.

I should check the engine and chassis numbers presumably? Where are these located?

Also, will a 1275 with a Bill Richards rebuild take Unleaded fuel?

Thanks
