Hi,

Tried looking up different posts.

What is the best mm2 cable for battery to use?

I have the options of 16mm2 and 35mm2 at the local shop.

Dose it make any difference for turbo setup?

Prefer to run the 16mm2 for the weight. 35mm2 is heavy!

Living in Norway so ordering a standard cable takes time from UK.

Thanks! :proud:

25mm2  would be a better option.

if you can order that and the terminals you need locally, you could make your own cable up (..would possibly be cheaper than an off the shelf item)

edit : 16mm2 should handle the current loads for starting up, but as it's thinner it has a relatively higher resistance than a thicker cable so the voltage drop at the starter motor would be greater, meaning the starter motor (..and everything else e.g coil) wouldn't be able to generate as much power

16mm will work, 25mm would be best, 35mm is a bit overkill and won’t give any advantage.

I use multi-strand ‘welding cable’ as it far more flexible and has better insulation - https://www.ebay.co....tm/203036789379

The original cable, while an imperial size, is close to 16 mm2 and for 99% of Mini Builds, that would be adequate.

I use single insulated 25 mm2 in most builds, but rather than buying 'battery cable', I use a flex as it runs in much neater and is nicer to work with, though you'll probably want to get bell mouth lugs to be sure they'll be easier to get over the cable stands.

I buy mine by the drum (from RS Components), but wander down to your local welding supplies, they'll likely have it by the metre on the shelf.
