If there are uprated parts that make financial sense then please let me know. At present I have 1 pitted cam follower, a couple of worn rocker arms and a couple of pitted push rods.

what problems are thinking that you might get changing followers and rocker arms?
a pitted follower can wear the cam lobe

If you have a pitted follower then you are more than likely going to need a camshaft. So that means a full set of followers.
rockers. Generally they can be rescued and reused. But I would fit a new shaft.
push rods. I would keep the originals over any other. The contact surfaces can be corrected. But basically if they are not bent they are fine.

Luckily, there is no damage to the cam but the follower only has slight pitting. The rest of the followers are in good condition. A couple of rocker arms have indentations on the face that meets the valve stem so wouldn’t be possible to measure accurately with a feeler when adjusting gaps.
My question really can I interchange old parts with new (keeping the originals in the position they came from).

you should definately change the pitted cam follower. I would probably change all of them as they aren't that expensive, but check the new ones you buy, the end should be slightly round and bubble up. I have previously gotten new ones that didn't do this, which is a problem
I know the rocker arm tip wear you talk about. you can file this down if its not too much and too deep. make the contact patch flat again. you can also just swap for good used rocker arms as long as they are the same type. just remember to adjust valves after all this. and possibly check them again after driving for a while.

Do you know when something is so blatantly obvious but in your mind you convince yourself it isn’t.
Appreciate the info on the followers, I will check them before using.
