I have had breakdown cover for my Motorhome included with the insurance. The insurance is up for renewal & I am looking at insurance without the breakdown cover.

I am looking for personal Breakdown cover to include both my MoHo & my ‘65 Elf ( when I get it on the road!)

Auto-aid have quoted £74.99 because Duffy is over 15 years old.

Any advice/suggestions?

I use the AA, my household (4 of us) are on my dad's Gold policy, Iirc its £350.
You should get it cheaper (id expect around £100).

We get

Home start
Relay
Full UK breakdown and recovery (including Islands)
Courtesy car if they can't repair ours.

Hope this helps.

RAC. And haggle with them. I flirted with Greenflag one year, but they never showed when I had a no start situation. I fixed it myself, but it was annoying. Like most things, you get what you pay for.

Wouldn't use either, the technicians aren't as experienced as the AA guys (in my area anyway!) if it don't have an OBD port they can't do anything.

Yes I have had to wait upto an hour and a half but have always made it home.

Edit

This covers us, not the cars but they'll tow any of our 7 vehicles and caravan, the oldest is 40 years old.

I may well have mis read this post, but getting breakdown cover for a classic (ie over 15 years old) on its own is pretty hard here in the uk... they want to supply it as part of the insurance cover.. I have classic car cover to take me home, I am 99% certain if I cant fix it at the side of the road, neither can they

Have a chat with AutoAid. Not sure whether their named driver cover (as opposed to named vehicle cover) extends to motorhomes, but worth a try. As a named driver you're covered in whatever car you drive. Spouses covered too on same policy.

I have one with AXA on my normal car, £30 for full UK cover. I have the one provided with the insurance for the mini but it might be worth a try. I have used them once and found the service fantastic.

MiniMadRacer, like you I could probably fix most things by the side of the road. it is when it needs to be towed somewhere I am concerned.
MoHo is a 2018 Bailey, 3500kg but does NOT have a spare wheel, just the can of foam, so I must have cover for that.

I have for the last few years used CaravanGuard which has included recovery and have paid around £280, this year they want £100 more! So I was looking elsewhere for breakdown cover.

Auto Aid will cover Moho, would have been £59.99, but because Duffy is over 15 years old, price goes to £74.99
