Hi All,

I've been a member on here for a while but haven't actually posted anything so its about time. My daughter has a 92 cooper spi which has a bit of a flat spot just as you open the throttle, I am currently working through eliminating parts.

I have noticed there is fuel leak from around the fuel pressure regulator,  I have tried to find a replacement  diaphragm but no one seems to list it. Do any of you guy's know who stocks them or even a part number or even if they are available.

cheers

Steve

I am going to go out on a limb here and say they do not sell that part. They used to sell the entire top plate (that includes the injector) as a complete unit...but that has long since been discontinued. Do you have any pictures of where its leaking from?

Not sure what the PSi range is for this or how it fits the SPi:

Might be worth asking a few questions though...

That adjustable pressure reg works really well.
You will need to use an inline fuel pressure gauge to set it up properly. The idea is to hook it up to the back of the intake manifold and it uses the vac to adjust the fuel pressure. In reality, for a standard spi, its too much. I fitted mine with the standard engine and ended up running without the vac connected. I just adjusted to a static fuel pressure slightly above std. Otherwise you get overfueling on a std engine. However with a tuned engine , you can get more benefits from the vacuum adjustability of that pressure reg.
If you want to go further, you can even dial it in by using a T-Piece in the vac line, and some weber carb jets to alter the vac a little. But first things first.

The kit comes with really good instructions in English and is easy to fit and nicely made, like all the stuff sold from classicminisjapan. Personally, I would recommend it.

Hi Andy,  Unfortunately this regulator is not supplied with a diaphragm. Kind Regards Waz

that's a very good point Wazzah....been so long since I fitted mine that I forgot this point  :tumble: .    But still worthwhile asking David at classic minis Japan if he can source one. Surely Mr Tanaka would have one floating around somewhere.
