I’ve purchased one of these AEM wide and gauge for my supercharged mini.

https://www.demon-tw...cB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I’ve drilled a hole within my exhaust system just below the rod change area where I’ve dropped the sensor cable through but not sure if this is correct or should be closer to engine ? I was due to have someone weld the o2 sensor bung for me this week.

Picture attached shows position of drilled hole and the end of this exhaust section goes onto the y piece.

The instructions that come with the gauge should also provide some guidance

as the instructions advise; at least 18" downstream of the exhaust ports, inclined greater than 10 degrees from horizontal

How accurate are rolling road afr readings? They’re obviously taken a few meters from the head.

I use a tailpipe mounted sensor. It gives great readings when driving, but you get a lean reading at idle from the air pulsing. You also need to make sure that there are no exhaust leaks

Thanks for the reply’s, I should have explained that I’ve mounted mine around 23 inches from the y piece as I read the instructions saying 18 inches down stream but the exhaust tunnel is quite tight for mounting in the correct angle.

I’ve noticed a lot of people mount them in the y piece connector and I was unsure if mines incorrect ?

The instructions are giving a measurement from the head.  But that would mean in the LCB hence some having them on the Y piece. But not always possible. All covered in the thread I linked.

Mine's in the Y piece and still works nicely after 18 months.

Sniffer probes are still accurate 👌🏽 there will be a slight change between whats at the head and what's at the tail.

Thanks for your input though.
