Hello,

I've been offered an MK2 with external hinges.

The engine should be 850cc, has been replaced according to the seller by a Cooper 1000 from an Innocenti together with the brake system.

The brakes should be the 7,5" setup (information I also found on the web)

Now on to the engine:

It has the number 99h833rhz, and it looks to have the A+ alternator bracket with an alternator fitted which would make it an A+.

I couldn't decode the engine number with Guessworks tool and I cannot see on the pictures the differences between A and A+ engine.

Does anyone know if this could be an original Inno Cooper engine, which would then have D-top pistons and 12g295 head?

Thanks

Gilles

Oh thanks, I looked for the number on internet but did not find this forum... Thanks for pointing it out.

And I'm french, so no issues with understanding the language.

It should be then an Inno 1001 engine with Cooper spec.(D-top, 12g295 with double springs)

Thanks a lot

There was also info on the German big Mini forum along the similar lines. But the French pages seemed a bit more conclusive.
