I recently fitted a lcb as part of a stage 1. After I had it tuned on the rolling road, the guy who was doing the tuning noticed my carb was getting so hot from the exhaust manifold that the fuel in the carb was actually bubbling. Also the metal fuel line coming up was worrying close to the exhaust.
He suggested retro fitting a welding mat or similar over the manifold as a heat shield. Is this a good idea? I don't want to wrap the exhaust in that heat tape as I've read that can stop the exhaust from expanding and cause cracks.
Or I thought I could shape and retro fit the aluminium heat shield sheets you can buy?

Whats peoples thoughts?
Cheers

Change pump outlet orientation (or change the pump) reroute the fuel line away from the exhaust. Dont worry about the carb.
