I recently read that the name "Dunlop" will be completely taken over by Goodyear in near future.

Example is the short loop of the Nürburgring where the "Dunlop-Kehre" that was known since the opening of of the new circuit in 1984 will be called "Goodyear-Kehre" from this year on. The short-cut, leaving the Müllenbachschleife with the Dunlop-Kehre out will be named "Goodyear-Spange". For years now the technology-centre in the industrial site near the Nürburgring was already waving flags with "Goodyear-Dunlop" on it.

Will the name Dunlop disappear altogether at least on European markets? Manufacturing of Dunlop racing tyres was concentrated at the Hanau/Germany plant quite some years ago. What about the Mini Se7ens that are sponsored by Dunlop?

Does anybody know more details?
