I'm not at all one for usually giving Orchestral Music more than about 2 seconds of my time. I respect how good musically much of it is, but it's usually getting to the other end of the spectrum of what I like to listen to.

I saw a close mate the other day, and he's like 'Watch This'. Wow,,,,,,

They are clever these classical types.

I actually have that along with his other scores on tape. That I bought back in the 80s

Without doubt some very talented musicians and getting that many people to be so 'at one' is incredibly impressive.

However for me it has far more impact, and interest, when delivered like this and you have the visual of 'how its made'.

Graeme, yes, I gotta say, I was knocked on my backside when I saw just how many musicians and vocalists were needed. We've all heard this sound track (or a good part of it) and not really ever thought much more of it, but you've well hit the nail on the head here.

It's inspired me to watch the movie !  I thought I had seen it, but no. It's quite funny.

Similarly - I'm always impressed by the (many) videos on Youtube of music played on the 'wrong' instruments and just how well the musicians transpose them and make them work.  It may not always be music to my taste, but always interesting - drum and bass on ukuleles, trance on a piano etc - there's some really good stuff out there!

I'm old enough to remember this being in the UK charts and I believe it even hit No 1 in 1968.

Obviously It was powerful enough musically to stick in my head all these years!

Ive never seen it performed before and it certainly gives another dimension so thanks a lot for that post.

- but yes the sheer number of people collaboratively involved is impressive and its all part of the magic.

Yes! I do remember when the "Spaghetti Westerns" were the "in" thing with the Ennio Morricone musical themes. This interpretation is outstanding. The hardest part was probably the guy playing the hanged man.   :P
